Gauging by the bulk of YT reactions to all of the CM promo (trailers, tv ads, behind-the-scenes featurette), most ppl are confused abt Carol, don't understand why Goose is part of the marketing, and are suuuuuuper pumped abt younger!Nick Fury.
Also, there's an undercurrent of "I might not be excited abt this movie BUT I feel like I have to see it if only so I can see how it will connect to Endgame". Which is a bit of a :| attitude to approach this movie with, but whatevs. I'm going to be there to soak all of the Carol, Maria R., Goose, and Nick awesomeness. :D?
For a lot of MCU films, I am not terrible hyped before them. I just wait for them to role around and then fall in love. I didn't even see trailers For Infinity War, Black Panther or Ant Man and Wasp. I enjoy films more knowing less about them. I've seen a lot of salt about the new trailers not showing enough and I am like 'no, this is good.'
