Hello, and welcome to your weekly Sunday discussion post! This week's topic is about Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy.



Near the end of Endgame, we see Thor going off into space aboard the Benatar with the Guardians. As in Infinity War, Peter Quill displays a lot of jealousy of Thor and tries to compete with him - for leadership, for the attention of his crew, and for general handsomeness.

Other than his rivalry with Quill, what role do you think Thor could play as a member of the Guardians crew? What qualities would he bring to the team that they currently lack? What role would you like to see Thor play, and how would you like to see his character develop?

Personally, I loved his team-up in Infinity War with Rocket and Groot, and the surprising affection between Thor and Rocket. I also think Thor, Mantis and Drax have the potential to be hilarious together. What are your thoughts?

You know, it would be interesting, since Gamora hasn't met Quill really, if Thor could give Peter some wisdom to make a better first impression. Or, second, since Gamora certainly impressed Quill's nads with her kick.

I suppose Drax is going to have to revisit his dude/man distinction but perhaps in a way that expands Drax's character.

I wonder how they're dealing with two Nebulas? Is 2023!Nebula now part of the Benatar crew?

Yes, I think 2023 Nebula did join the Benatar crew, but I'd have to watch Endgame again to confirm.

She died. 2023 Nebula killed her.

My GotG feels are rather neutral overall. Though I'm deffo looking forward to LESS clashing between Quill and Thor (that'd get old v. fast, imo) and more about Thor bonding with the rest of the crew. Thor is the kind of character that would work when grouped with any character and having him and Drax becoming buddies or Mantis and Thor having convos is great. Not to mention Rocket and Groot feeling v. protective of him.
