Hello, and welcome to your weekly discussion post! Sorry this one is a day late. I re-watched Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend, so today's topic is all about Groot.
There's a lovely scene in which Groot lights up the darkness with hundreds of tiny fluorescent lights. One of his companions (Drax, I think?) asks him, "When did you learn how to do that?" to which Peter pre-emptively replies, "Pretty sure the answer is, 'I am Groot.'"
When DID Groot learn how to do that? And what, exactly, is he doing? Are the fluorescent lights part of his organic material, like seeds that he lets float into the air? Are they fireflies that live in his limbs? Or is there some other explanation for how he can light up the night sky?
Discuss your head canons!
