I'm not really sure if it's completely stopped being a thing, because I don't read much Avengers fic anymore, but it seems like it got washed away in a tide of Civil War and IW fic. But maybe it's still a thing? I mean, the fandom's huge; it's big enough to have everything, so there must be some around still!
