Weekly Discussion Post
Hello, and welcome to your weekly Sunday discussion post! This week's topic comes courtesy of this story in The Hollywood Reporter.
Discussion questions, based on the above. Pick one or all, depending on your interests!
(Note to comm members: next Sunday I'll be travelling so there might not be a discussion post from me. Depends on my schedule.)
- Loki, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, has landed Michael Waldron as its point person. Waldron will write the pilot, act as show creator and exec produce the series.
- Sources say the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shape-shifter pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events.
- Marvel had no comment.
- Other known series are The Vision and Scarlet Witch, being run by Captain Marvel writer Jac Schaeffer, while another will focus on a team-up of Falcon and Winter Soldier, the heroes played by Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, respectively. Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been hired to write the latter effort.
Discussion questions, based on the above. Pick one or all, depending on your interests!
- What would YOU like to see in these series?
- Do you think Loki will focus on past events, or is this a deliberate misdirect from Marvel "sources"?
- Do you think Marvel will bring Loki back in Endgame via multiverse, time travel or other shenanigans?
- Did you know that Vision was going to be part of the Scarlet Witch series? (I did not, and I will be annoyed if his name remains first in the show title. /grump) Given that Vision died in IW, will this show also be focused on past events?
- Are you as excited for the Falcon and Winter Soldier team-up as I am? I am hoping for an EPIC level of snark from those two!
- Are you familiar with any of these show runners? If so, did you enjoy their previous work?

I do approve of snark buddies.
I just.....I just fear about what will happen to Loki. They have a great character that Tom has created. I don't want them to screw it up.

I get your trepidation about Loki, but I'm excited to see more of the character. I'll take him however I can get him. :D
