Nebula as Iron Man
Hello, and welcome to your weekly Sunday discussion post! This week's topic is about Nebula's future in the MCU and where we'd like to see her go next.
Without getting into specifics, Nebula has significant scenes with both Tony Stark and James Rhodes in Avengers: Endgame. Both men built their superhero cred on sophisticated machines, namely, Tony's Iron Man suits. In Rhodey's case, he even uses the machines as a substitute for his own legs after a debilitating crash.
But Nebula herself is the machine. Her body has been cruelly modified to the point where she is likely more technological than biological. All of this was done without her consent, yet she has managed to turn the modifications to her own advantage - using them to fight enemies, send covert messages, and circumvent other technology.
Given all this, it would make logical sense for Nebula to be the next Iron Man (Iron Person? Iron Alien?). I don't think this is EVER going to happen, but wouldn't it be cool if it did? She could drive her own story separate from the Guardians of the Galaxy, and extend the Iron Man/Person/Woman legacy to other planets and star systems.
What are your thoughts? Would you like to see Nebula as the next Iron Man? Why or why not? Where else would you like to see Nebula's character go next?
