Thor's ultimate weakness?

Hello, and welcome to your weekly Sunday discussion post! This week's topic is very silly.

Ever notice that almost every time Thor makes an appearance in an MCU movie, there's a scene where his face gets smushed up against glass?

Thor - Slams face-first into Jane's windshield; later, he faceplants into a hospital door when the staff stabs him in the butt with a needle
The Avengers - Falls 30-thousand feet in a glass cage while he repeatedly slams around inside
Thor: The Dark World - Faceplants into the side of an office building
Thor: Ragnarok - Wakes up with his face planted into the glass bottom of Valkyrie's ship
Avengers: Infinity War - Slams face-first into the Benatar's windshield

I'm struggling to remember any faceplant scenes in Age of Ultron or Endgame. Anyone remember any?

What is it with Thor and windows? Are they his kryptonite?

I mean, does Asgard HAVE any glass windows? Even their little flying boats are literally boats - ones without any windshields, even. Glass is just a difficult concept for Asgardians, maybe. :D

So, Thor's got the next fight in a glass elevator?

Well, they might have stood a chance if they didn't overstock the barrel.

Nah! Steve could do that all day.

Someone (I mentioned it in the metadata) offered it and siblings recently, from the Men's Health article.

It's just the joy of seeing Hemsworth's inhumanly handsome features ("dumb, perfect little face" per MIB: International) smushed up in a distinctly un-god-like manner. Like when attractive women make truly hideous faces into the camera. Plus, I think Hemsworth likes doing comedy better than doing Shakespeare In The Park.

10000%. And it's not quite to the same degree of getting mashed against transparent surfaces, but I love that Taika Waititi either directed or allowed the equally gorgeous Tessa Thompson to do weird, funny facial expressions and drunken pratfalling like you normally only see in movies made by Kristen Wiig. I do ship Thor/Valkyrie a bit, but even when I imagine them together romantically, their dynamic will always and forever be Asgardian Frat Bros.

Crashing in late...a little like Thor crashing into glass ;)

I am completely on board with glass being Thor's krytonite. :O Either Loki doesn't know his weakness (unlikely) or he DOES and is waiting for the perfect moment to use it as a weapon or a bargaining tool against Thor, to get something he wants from Thor / the Avengers.

i mean, we need fic on this topic, far too funny.

LOL at this topic. Also, this has made me realize Thor's level of invulnerability. He was floating in space before smacking against the GotG's spaceship and was still alive. Hot damn.

OTOH, it's v. true. Also per what I remember, there aren't any scenes of Thor vs. a glass window in AoU or EG.
