Discussion post: Guardians hanging out
Back in old-school Avengers fandom, there used to be a lot of fic about the Avengers hanging out in the tower, having movie nights, and the like.
But what do the Guardians do for fun? All that time living in close quarters on the Milano and later the Benatar ... they must have their own version of Avengers movie nights. But they're all so different that finding something they all like to do might have been hard. What are some of their team bonding activities like? Is Peter the guy who sets up karaoke every night while Drax and Gamora just want to spar, or are they all addicted to a particular Xandarian soap opera featuring fictionalized versions of themselves*, or what?
*help, I want to write this now

And not in the fun way! //rimshot
I would honestly love to see the alien members of the team teaching each other about their pop culture or customary homeworld activities -
Peter does at least seem to have brought along some video games! What would he have had in his backpack....Probably nobody wants to hear stories about what activities Gamora and Nebula had to do as kids, though. D:
Peter does seem to be able to at least understand Groot in the GotG2 stinger scene, which implies that they've been learning it
Yeah, even with just people who don't speak each others' language, there's a lot you can get across with tone, volume, intonations, gestures....maybe Peter plays music for Groot and sees what he reacts to! ("They had talking to plants on my world too." "He's not a plant." "You're a raccoon. He's a plant.")
HAHAHAHA. He totally would.
I was saying this to snickfic elsewhere but Thor to me is SO TOTALLY the Older Bro who just messes with his younger siblings and frequently is condescending or patronizing, but would also never give up on them ever and is always willing to give them one more chance. (Which the younger siblings will also abuse mercilessly.)

... oh no. D:
Gamora is probably old enough to remember some of the cultural stuff from her planet, though - kids' songs and entertainment and the like.

Ahahaha. Agreed. The big-sibling/little-sibling dynamic with Thor and Loki is so ... well, accurate.
